Know What I Mean, Peaches ‘N’ Cream?

I know by now you are so tired of hearing that you shouldn’t skip breakfast. Wait, don’t roll your eyes just yet. Skipping breakfast comes with greater risks than just a growling stomach.

What if I told you that eating breakfast could lead to more weight loss?

In one recent study, people who ate breakfast as their largest meal lost an average of 17.8 pounds over three months. The large-dinner group only lost an average of 7.3 pounds each over the same time period. (source)

I find that the common reason women skip breakfast is because they do not have enough time in the morning. Either they don’t have the time to eat breakfast at all or they are not eating a balanced breakfast before they start their day.

What is balanced? Well, a protein (yogurt or eggs), a complex carbohydrate (oats), and healthy fat (chia seeds) is truly considered balanced. Your body digests foods in a particular order. Carbohydrates first, protein second, and fats.

This means, grabbing a banana on the go isn’t enough to fuel your body for an extended period of time. But how does a woman who is on the go and trying to find balance master breakfast? Have you tired overnight oats yet?

You can prep multiple overnight oats on Sunday evening or the night before you plan to eat them for breakfast.

Overnight oats are more than your plain-Jane milk and oats you are used to as a young girl. They are also better than your Quaker maple and brown sugar or peaches n cream, sugar packed instant oats you find at your local grocery store.

Overnight oats are a great way to incorporate fresh fruit, dairy-free yogurt, and extra essential healthy fats. There are so many different recipes to try, too. This means you can enjoy different flavors throughout the week so you do not get bored. Breakfast ready to grab and go! Ready to try your hand at overnight oats yet?

This simple Peaches ‘n’ Cream Overnight Oats recipe has dairy-free coconut milk yogurt, fresh organic peaches, chia seed, raw honey, and almond milk. Sweet and refreshing to grab and go in the morning.

Let me know what you think! Enjoy!

A Dairy-Free Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

Remember when those McDonald’s Fruit N Yogurt Parfaits came out?! They were originally the size of a Starbucks tall drink. Remember that? Loaded with vanilla yogurt, berries, and granola. I think now they are like the size of a small child’s to go cup.

The size of the parfait is completely irrelevant to my post.  I just wanted to point out how the sizes of everything have changed. “back in my day” granny moment.

I wanted to create a lower sugar and dairy-free version of a parfait. I think parfaits are tasty in the morning or as a snack, but my intolerance to dairy always rules out the store bought or restaurant versions.

For my parfaits, I use unsweetened vanilla So Delicious coconut milk yogurt. It is yogurt made out of coconut milk, so it is completely dairy-free. No upset stomach. Hallelujah!

This parfait is perfect for PanzaTine’s Day/Valentine’s Day morning. The red raspberries at that festive pinkish red color and the granola gives a tasty crunch. You can add whatever toppings you would like too or other berries.

I mentioned last week that we were house hunting. My goodness! I knew it would be a little stressful, but I suppose I thought I would just find “the one” right off the bat. There are so many components to think about when looking for a house. The streets it is near, the school district, the neighborhood, and even what setup you want for entertaining. Are you following me yet on Snapchat?

I shared on Snapchat a kitchen pantry that was the size of a small bedroom. One home we went in smelled like pee, NO THANK YOU! We nicknamed the houses we saw and that one was “smelly house”. #SorryNotSorry

Today we are preparing to go view a few more. One or two of which I can really see myself living in and creating a home in. I have already redesigned the front landscaping in my head for one of the homes. 🙂

Anyways! I will be hosting a giveaway in my Facebook group this week. I am giving away the book You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. If you haven’t joined us, request to join at The Busy Woman’s Guide to a Healthy Life on Facebook

No more delaying, here is the recipe for you.

PSL Overnight Oats

Oh. Em. Gee!! It has been so long since I have overnight oats because every recipe I have ever found has greek yogurt in it. Because I do not eat dairy, I always skipped over recipes for overnight oats. Overnight oats panzaavenue.comThe days of skipping recipes is over! So Delicious brand makes a coconut milk yogurt! I know, right?!!? I was so excited when I found coconut milk yogurt. I used to love yogurt before discovering I had a full blown allergy to dairy. So Delicious is here to save the day!

This pumpkin spice latte overnight oats recipe is super delicious and the perfect wake me up for the morning. The flavors are still sweet, but not overpowering. I love the rich flavor of the coffee mixed with the raw pumpkin seeds and cranberries.

PSL dairy free overnight oats I especially love overnight oats because you can make them ahead. Making a batch of overnight oats eliminates an extra step in the morning and you can usually get the batch to last a day or two.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!! It doesn’t need to be fall to enjoy this simple recipe!

Cupcakes mainly, but if you have cake you’re looking to give away, I am your girl! 🙂 Honestly though, if sugar and cake didn’t totally derail me from my fitness goals, I would eat it EVERY. SINGLE. There are several different recipes in this issue of Clean Eating Magazine that I want to try. So stay turned, because I will be sharing more with you soon!
