A letter to the mother who miscarried and a poem from our little angels.Dear Mother Who Miscarried –

I write these words from the sincerest place in my heart.

A place of knowing exactly where you are. A place of wonder, hurt, and sadness.

To the mother that miscarried, I am sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for the hurt and pray for comfort.

I pray that the world around you and the people around you are both gentle and supportive.

It’s okay that you don’t know where to pick up at. It is okay that you’ve grown weak. It is okay that you have grown distant and want some quiet.

It is also okay that you are afraid of the quiet, because that’s where your mind starts to wander.

It feels lonely, but know you aren’t alone.

I will tell you, the days get easier. There will come a day when you stop¬†questioning everything you did. There will come a day when you can pick yourself back up and smile again. There are brighter days. They won’t come suddenly, but they will come.

Give yourself permission though to feel these moments. It is okay.

For me, it took time. The fitness guru, the girl who ate healthy, that all went out the window. It’s okay to grieve. It’s okay to feel sad and to wonder.

There will be a day where you forgive God. There will be a day where you accept that you didn’t cause this. I hope that day comes sooner than later, because it is oh so true.

You are not alone, but I know there are no words that can make the hurt fade instantly. I pray one day soon the clouds start to fade away and your smile softly returns. I pray that one day your story and this storm become healing to another woman.

For now, I simply pray for comfort.

The poem below was shared with me while I was grieving our second miscarriage. My first read, I couldn’t finish it. However, as time went on it brought me comfort.A letter to the mother who miscarried and a poem from our little angels.
